Job Description:
Job Description Job Description This is a part time (up to 25
hours per week) position. SCOPE OF WORK: Performs various office
and program support duties for the Automotive and Aviation
Departments associated with departmental operations and student
success. This position shall report to the Transportation
Technologies Department Chair at NCC. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Performs
general office support functions in the Transportation Departments
including taking meeting minutes, maintaining and organizing ASE
Accreditation documents, preparing documents and reports.
Coordinates and schedules events such as program advisory committee
meetings, annual Career Days, high school instructor trainings,
Tool Day Events, Skills USA contest and other departmental events.
Assists with recruitment efforts including scheduling high school
visits on campus, organizing and scheduling program information
sessions; schedule high school classroom visits, maintaining
promotional materials and mailings to applicants; and engaging in
outreach efforts with applicants through letters, phone calls,
email, text, etc. Assists with social media presence for the
Transportation Departments on Facebook and Instagram. Maintains and
updates database of current and potential students. Coordinates
with the Admissions office to promote transportation programs and
assist with onboarding process. Tracks applicant progress to
streamline process and maintains student applicant documents.
Communicates with various tool vendors, accrediting bodies, and
related industry partners for all automotive and aviation programs.
Responsible for communicating courteously and effectively with the
students, college personnel, and the public via phone, e-mail,
written correspondence and in person. Maintains effective working
relationships with college faculty, staff and administration.
Attend workshops, seminars and conferences for professional
development. Complies with all system, college, state and federal
rules and regulations. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or equivalent
credential. Each additional year of approved formal education may
be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Five years of experience in a responsible clerical
position with experience in an office setting. Each additional year
of approved experience may be substituted for one year of required
formal education. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an academic
institution preferred. RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Strong computer
skills and experience with Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of
office record keeping and reporting. Ability to gather, assemble,
correlate and analyze facts and identify existing or potential
problems. Ability to contribute to the development of sound
operational procedures. Ability to exercise sound judgment in
appraising situations and making routine decisions. Ability to
follow specific instructions in gathering facts, data, or resources
in organizing required information. Ability to meet with students
and the public and explain programs sponsored by the department or
agency in which the position is located. Ability to present ideas
clearly and effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish
and maintain effective working relationships with other employees
and the general public. Must be willing to maintain an appearance
appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined
