About this Position
In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to
solve problems, develop and execute objectives that affect
producibility and cost goals of rotating parts/compressor airfoil
components by executing engineering work across Defense Engine
products. Your activities will contribute to the redesign of
products, solutions and systems for Safety, Quality, Delivery and
Cost.
In this role, you will identify/integrate/develop existing and new
processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage
complex issues within your functional area(s) of expertise, be
involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall
business initiatives.
This may include activities which drive technical improvement of
existing products and components. Your role impacts quality,
efficiency and effectiveness of the Value Stream Team and as such
you will have significant input into team priorities. Your role has
moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational
judgment.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Execute with limited guidance the analysis / evaluation of assigned
projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and
the product / program requirements.
Develop Business case for assigned projects and solicit product
line support. Document technical data generated by the assigned
project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Recommend approach to meet the technical and program
requirements.
Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical requirements,
schedules, and contract commitments.
Develop action plans to anticipate and respond to problems.
Provide technical guidance to other personnel and assigned teams,
mentor others.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the
assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies
and procedures.
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and
significant developments.
Lead or participate in organizational efforts in assigned projects
and/or tasks.
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program
reviews.
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks
or problems in areas of operational/product management,
manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on
existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for
data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal
and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at
decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead
small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build
consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence
others on topics within field.
Support the implementation of Flight Deck principles within working
teams.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering from an accredited
college or university
Minimum 8 years experience in a relevant engineering position
Ability to travel up to 10% annually
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not

Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace
engineering from an accredited college or university
Technical expertise in one or more of the following technologies:
cold airfoils, engine systems, mechanical systems, and rotating
parts.
Demonstrated ability to document, plan and manage programs.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in coordination /
collaboration.
Demonstrated technical and business collaboration with both
internal manufacturing shops and external suppliers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to
guide / mentor and influence others.
Strong oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges
with sound documentation, planning, & program management
skills.
Ability to independently organize, document, plan and execute
simultaneous projects while aligning with business priorities.
Ability to learn and leverage FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace's
proprietary lean operating model
