Advanced EMT Role Description Advanced EMTs are delivering the
future of healthcare by providing the right care, at the right
time, in the right place. Providing an option for on-demand,
in-home physician supported care, our innovative SmartCare division
is improving patient outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and
reducing the number of hospital admissions and re-admissions
through community medicine. Advanced EMTs working in community
medicine provide the highest levels of clinic assessment and
treatment with an expanded scope of care. Patients are treated
directly in their homes to reduce the need for ambulance
transportation and hospital stays. Due to the nature of care
needed, SmartCare professionals work as an extension of the
patient’s medical team and may work closely with the same set of
patients and their families. This unique in-home healthcare career

step in their career or a non-ambulance EMT job. Mobile Integrated
Health (MIH) Advanced EMT Responsibilities Deliver quality patient
care in accordance with clinical policies, statewide protocol, and
standards of care Attend to patients in a courteous and
professional manner Monitor remote patient tracking and respond as
appropriate Participate in discharge planning of SmartCare patients
Complete initial in-home assessments and on-going home visits as
appropriate for all patients enrolled in SmartCare program
Communicate effectively with EMS agencies, physicians, and other
healthcare providers Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Advanced EMT
Job Requirements Fully state certified as an Advanced EMT
Certifications in Advanced and Basic Life Support Valid driver’s
license and an acceptable driving record through a DMV background
check 2 years minimum experience as an EMT Be in good clinical
standing Possess strong customer service and communication skills
Be able to work independently and be able to function as part of a
care planning team Pass a background check including CORI Pass a
drug screen and lift test Commitment to providing exemplary
customer service Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) preferred The
successful completion of the Community Health Advanced EMT Training
Program within 6 months of hire or at the first course offering

Ability to lift and maneuver 125 pounds with assistance and without
difficulty Ability to walk up and down stairs without difficulty
Ability to lift and carry 125 pounds up and down two flights of
stairs with assistance and without difficulty Ability to sit,
stand, and kneel for long periods of time Ability to walk without
difficulty and without affective the immediate performance of
job-related duties Ability to bend, stoop, and crawl as duties
require Ability to occasionally work in low light and confined
