Job Description:
Overview Clean Harbors is looking for a Senior Vice President of
Pricing Strategy (SVPPS) to join their safety conscious team! The
SVP Pricing Strategy will lead efforts to improve Clean Harbors'
pricing strategies to drive overall profit improvement. The work
will include collaboration with sales, finance, and operations to
determine the best levels of granularity for regional pricing (aka
Suggested Retail Pricing - SRP) and for costing with specific focus
to Industrial and Field Services areas. The SVPPS will implement
pricing and costing schemes into our WIN systems, to include using
SOPs, electronic tablets, and integration with customer's
third-party systems. The SVPPS will report to our senior team on
key metrics (e. g., average discounting from SRP, by LOB and
geography.) The SVPPS will create a recurring process to update
both pricing and costing across our systems as frequently as needed
(could be monthly if markets or capacities are rising or falling.)
By component/item/SKU and by LOB and geography. Work with MIS to
make sure quoting and contract systems have the proper logic to
deliver SRP, discounting and profitability to users. Also assure
rebates and credit management are included in profitability
measurements. Position must sit out of our company headquarters in

- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal by
following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all
times;
- Create and manage pricing (SRP) for all areas of the company,
with specific focus to our IS and FS businesses. Determine how
granular (by region, by district etc.) we need to be to drive as
much margin as possible;
- Set up and manage a recurring process to assure all pricing and
costing is updated as frequently as needed;
- Manage customer specific component codes vs standard codes.
Assure we do not comingle. Oversee the mapping and maintenance of
CH codes to customer/ 3rd party codes (to Ariba and TRACK
catalogs);
- Assure SOP (standard operating procedures) and their use with
electronic tablets are implemented for maximum benefit (customer
specific job scopes), reducing leakage. Assure proper usage of
bundles and SOPs in quotes and contracts and throughout the system
(e. g. Speeding and improving billing accuracy);
- Maintain internal mapping of CH coding: Component Codes to Item
Codes to Part Numbers to SKUs. Assist to define and resolve
component usage and logic across systems: From quotes/contracts, to
shift summaries/worksheet entry on handhelds to invoicing to
integration with 3rd party systems;
- Assist PIT team to drive profit improvement. Help analyze worst
margin customers, bundles, and other pricing areas for
targeting/improvement. Include analyzing rebates and discounts and
taking action to reduce/eliminate their use. Include evaluation of
credit management in profitability evaluation;
- Report key metrics to the management team - Discount levels,
lowest margin areas, working closely with Commercial Ops team.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7-10 years pricing experience;
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred;
- Excellent analysis skills - be able to draw insights from
analysis;
- Financial acumen;
- Experience with large and complex data;
